Fireworks Time!!!

4th of July Celebration

This year for the 4th of July we went to Gramma Marian's House for a BBQ and fireworks. We had a great time and Penny seemed to really enjoy watching Daddy and everyone else do fireworks!! And she wore her special 4th of July outfit that Mamow made her.

My wonderful nursing shirt

So my mom had this wonderful idea of how to make a nursing top that I could wear and easily maneuver now that Penny hates to have her head covered with a nursing cape. And the trial run just so happened to be with a top she made me for the 4th of July. Well I tried it out and I loved it so I have put in my order for more. Lol. This shirt is awesome because the top has two layers and the underneath layer has openings and the top layer is a short layer but is stays down with elastic and you can't even tell so all I have to do is lift up one side of the top layer and feed Penny right thru the opening and nobody can even see what is going on, it is amazing. I love it!!! And of course she had to make Penny a matching outfit!!

Cousins Hangin Out

Today Penny and I got to go over and hang out with cousin Bailey for a while so that Kirsten could take baby Taylor for her Dr. check up. It is so nice to see the cousins play together and even though Penny doesn't play that well yet Bailey is soooo patient with her and she shares so well with her and Penny just loves it. I also got to have some fun Aunt time with Bailey and we painted her tootsies!!! We did find out the hard way that you can't wear princess shoes too soon after you have polished your toes!! ooppsss!! But we did our best to fix them and they turned out beautiful!!! We had such a nice time!!

Oh how I have longed for COFFEE!!

So I have never been a huge coffee drinker but I am definitely one who really enjoys my 1-2 cups of really yummy coffee each morning and once in a while a cup here or there throughout the day. So, now that I am a mommy one of my jobs is to provide nourishment for my little angel. So, I have been nursing her since she was born and plan to continue until she is at least 1 year old, however there has been quite a list of things that I have had to give up eating and drinking because she has a very sensitive tummy. One of those things was...you guessed it...my delicious coffee. I thought in the beginning it might be the caffeine but decaf didn't work either. Anytime I would drink it she would spend the rest of the day spitting up. Which is not to fun for anyone involved. So bye bye went my coffee. I have tried it here and there throughout these past 8 1/2 months and still no luck. Until......Sunday when I tried again. The funny part was I didn't even realize till the end of the day she hadn't spit up so I have continued to try for the last 4 days and so far so good. I am just about convinced that I can now thoroughly enjoy my coffee again. And the best part is the caffeine doesn't seem to have any affect on her!!! YEAH!! You have noooooooo idea how excited this makes me. I would do anything for that little girl and so far I have but it is awesome when I can enjoy some little treats for me too. I'm sorry Kirsten I'm sure this doesn't make you very happy but hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I certainly have put my time in as well!!!! <3
