Christmas Day 2010

We went to Dannys moms house (Gramma Marian) to have some family time and a ham lunch/dinner. We had a great time visiting and exchanging gifts with everyone and Penny had a lot of quality time with her family(the people that were there were Gramma Marian, Uncle Eddie, Ashley, Kayla, Uncle Jay, Great Aunt Ann, Kaitlynn, Rick, Darryl, Carol, Jeff, and Erin. When we were finished there we went to my moms house to celebrate with the other side of the family. The people that were there were Mamow, Papa Lee, Uncle David, Aunt Amber, Kenna, Logan, Uncle Mike, Aunt Kirsten, Bailey, Taylor, Uncle Scott, and Great Poppy and Great Mamow Lance. We all had such a nice time visiting and sharing and exchanging gifts with each other. And of course the cousins had lots of time to play. At the end we were all tired and definetly ready for bed. We are soooooo blessed to have such wonderful loving families that live so close. Thank God for our families and friends.
Christmas Morning 2010
Yeah!!! Santa came!!!

Although this year was not Pennys 1st Christmas it was the 1st Christmas that she started to kind of understand a little bit of what is going on, which made things really fun. Christmas morning we spent at home together as a family. We started with presents and of course coffee for Danny and I and then as Penny played with her new things I made some yummy cinnamon rolls and an egg and sausage quiche for breakfast. Then I made some chilli and also some ham pinwheels to take to my moms for later, we put ourselves together and then we were off to Dannys moms house.

Christmas Eve 2010

On Christmas Eve although it can be a little hectic we try to make a point of visiting our families on both sides even though we will visit them again on Christmas day. My mom still carries out the "Christmas Pajama" tradition that was started when she was a kid where each person opens a present on Christmas Eve and the present is marked "From: Sandy" and it is always pajamas. Well as we all became adults and she continued this on with us and our kids, my brother David added the little twist that we all wear our matching pajamas on Christmas Day. This has turned out to be alot of fun and I wanted us to carry on the tradition as well so Penny also opened a present from Sandy when we got home and it was pajamas for her to wear that night. So, we made a stop at my moms house and visited for a while (aunts and uncles and cousins were there as well) and of course Christmas Eve would not be complete without a personal call from Santa himself!! Then we went on to Dannys moms house and visited there for a while as well(uncles, grama, and cousins were there also). Then we went on home to get to bed because Santa needed to come and we all know that if we are awake he won't come. :)
She found a present!!
So a couple of weeks ago when I was taking out the Christmas decorations I came across a present that we bought last year for someone else but didn't end up seeing the person so I just packed the present away. When I found it this year I started to open it and then realized it was a doll set that Penny would love so I left it half wrapped and she was going to get it for Christmas. I had it propped up against something and she happened to knock it over and she was able to see that it was a baby and got all excited. So I quickly distracted her and set the box back up so she couldn't see it, however every once in a while when she walked past the box she would remember that there was a baby in there and she would peek at it and try to get me to give it to her hahahaha. At any rate we held out until Christmas and she was really excited when it was under the tree.
